Position Summary

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Help with catering events and special functions as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of food supplies and equipment.
  • Setting up, stocking, and breaking down of assigned stations.
  • Use knowledge of common allergies & dietary restrictions to ensure food safety for guests when noted on tickets.
  • Avoid food waste by observing food storage time and temperature standards.
  • Complete assigned daily/ weekly / monthly cleaning tasks.
  • Execute safe knife handling skills and safe use of all kitchen equipment.

 

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate with all team members effectively.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.  
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. 
  • May be able to lift and carry up to 25 - 50 lbs at times. 
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.  
  • Climbing steps regularly.
  • Prolonged periods of standing. 

 

Compensation

  • Hourly (based on Skill and Experience).
  • The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
